Welcome to teaching my portfolio

Motivational comments of my GCSE students. From the beginning of year 7, Spanish was one of the hardest subjects to learn for me; I often felt demotivated in the subject and had no intent of studying it as a GCSE. However my spark for the subject truly ignited after being tutored by Monste. I was made aware of how great of a language it really is, and how easy it was to learn all thanks to her teaching. Every lesson was tailored to my needs to ensure I made the best use of my time and all of my problems were heard by her and dealt with - greatly strengthening my ability in spanish. She made sure I fully understood any questions and problems I had by explaining the solution in different ways. Her patient way of teaching coupled with the regular homework given to me every week to keep me from forgetting words and tenses learnt that day - gave me a sound understanding of the language. All thanks to her diligent teaching I was then able to achieve a grade 9 in my GSCE spanish exams. Monste had completely changed my perspective of the language and I would highly recommend her to anybody struggling with learning Spanish. Camron I got my Spanish result today and I got a 5!!! I was really happy with this considering I was on the higher paper and I started off finding Spanish really difficult, but you made me improve so much and I appreciate your patience and time! Thank you for being so helpful and persevering with me even when I had my moments when I wasn’t sure, especially on the tenses I do hope you are as proud as I am and I shall miss our sessions together! Thanks again Montse you are the best ;) Lauren x

Gerard, Louise.

English Teacher at Gumley House school.

"Montserrat tutored my daughter over the course of her AS studies - year 12. My daughter had no experience of Spanish outside of school and as there was no language assistant where she studied we felt she needed additional help.

When Montse started tutoring her she was hovering around a C/D grade - she ended up with a B and then went on to get an A at A level. My daughter credits Montse with a lot of that success.

Elspeth -my daughter - always commented on how well prepared she was and how excellent her work materials were. She felt she struck the balance between being warm and encouraging and firm if she did not do all the work she had set. She took a real interest in her, so much so that when she could no longer tutor her, because of work and study commitments, she continued to send her work or interesting articles.

She often says she was her best Spanish teacher. She went on to take a Spanish component in her first year of a History degree at university. I would recommend her highly!"

CELTA Main Course Tutor at West Thames College in London

"Montse had an excellent working relationship with both trainers and her teaching colleagues.

She was a very good team member and maintained a consistently professional and hardworking attitude to her teaching.

She built a very good rapport with the students because of her lively and engaging manner.

I expect with only some initial support she should become an accomplished teacher.

I think Montse would be a very valuable addition to any English language teaching staffroom"

What makes my online lessons amazing is my capacity for producing and delivering engaging lessons from secure sources. I focus on different conversational real-life situations that combine with grammar. You will learn how to produce the Spanish language, rather than learning fixed expressions for speaking and you will get consistency in any area you want to develop or improve.

What are your language targets?

I am extremely passionate about languages, adventures, and traveling. In my twenties, I moved to St Marteen, an ancient half-French and Holland island in the Caribbean to improve my French. I worked teaching Spanish to a one-year-old child and in my free time, I studied the French language on my own with the help of some grammar books and a dictionary. I remember I always used any opportunity to start a conversation with someone. Very proud of myself I sat my level test at the French Lycée in Madrid and sign in for my third year of French, the intermediate level. I believe anyone can speak a foreign language, but only some can feel it intensively.
